Terms of Service

The agreement between your business and Voltline — billing cycles, renewal, cancellation, uptime and liability.

Please read these terms before subscribing. They set out how monthly billing works, how to cancel, what uptime we commit to, and the limits of our liability.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Voltline, a job management application for Australian trade businesses, together with the Voltline website and any associated services (the Service).

By creating an account, starting a free trial, or paying a subscription, the account owner accepts these terms on behalf of the business named on the account and every user invited to that account.

2. Accounts, users and seats

  • The account owner is responsible for all activity under the account, including activity by invited office staff and field crew.
  • Each plan includes a set number of user seats. Adding users beyond your plan's limit requires an upgrade to a higher plan.
  • You must keep sign-in credentials and crew access codes confidential and tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.
  • You must not use the Service unlawfully, attempt to breach tenant isolation, or resell access without our written agreement.

3. Subscriptions, billing cycles and renewal

  • Subscriptions are sold on a monthly billing cycle. All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.
  • Your subscription renews automatically each month on the anniversary of your first paid day, and continues to renew until cancelled.
  • Payment is taken in advance for the coming month using the payment method held by our payments provider, Paddle.
  • Free trials convert to a paid monthly subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled before the trial ends.
  • If a payment fails, we may retry the charge and may suspend access until payment succeeds. Accounts unpaid for 30 days may be closed.
  • We may change plan pricing with at least 30 days' notice by email. Price changes take effect from your next billing cycle after the notice period.

4. Upgrades, downgrades and cancellation

  • You can cancel at any time from your account settings or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Because billing is monthly and paid in advance, cancelling does not generate a pro-rata refund for the remainder of the paid month; you keep access until the cycle ends.
  • Upgrades take effect immediately and are charged pro-rata for the remainder of the current cycle. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next cycle.
  • You may export your job, customer and invoice data at any time while your subscription is active. After closure we retain data for 30 days so the account can be restored, then delete or de-identify it.
  • Nothing in this clause limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including remedies where a service is not supplied with due care and skill.

5. Service availability and support

  • We target 99.5% monthly uptime for the Voltline application, measured excluding scheduled maintenance.
  • Scheduled maintenance is announced in advance where practical and is normally performed outside Australian eastern business hours.
  • Uptime excludes outages caused by factors outside our reasonable control, including third-party hosting, payment or messaging providers, your internet connection, or force majeure events.
  • If we fall materially short of the uptime target in a given month, your remedy is to request a service credit against the following month's subscription fee.
  • Support is provided by email during Australian business hours. We aim to acknowledge requests within one business day.

6. Your data and your responsibilities

You retain ownership of the data you and your users enter into Voltline, including customer records, job details, site photos, timesheets and invoices. You grant us the licence needed to host, process, back up and display that data to operate the Service.

Voltline is an administrative tool. It does not certify trade work, replace regulatory obligations, or verify that a job complies with the standards or licence conditions that apply to your trade. You remain responsible for compliance, for the accuracy of invoices and tax reporting, and for retaining records required by law.

7. Limitation of liability

  • The Service is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis, except for guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
  • Where liability can be limited, our liability is limited, at our option, to resupplying the Service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising from or in connection with the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the subscription fees you paid in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill, or loss or corruption of data, however caused.
  • You are responsible for keeping your own copies of records you are legally required to retain.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access where an account is used unlawfully, where fees remain unpaid, or where use threatens the security or stability of the Service. Where practical we will give notice and an opportunity to fix the problem first.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@voltline.io.
